Alta

Brand Identity
2026

A liquid inspired identity for a blockchain network.

I worked with Alta from the start, helping create their positioning and identity, communicating Alta's ease of use as a strategic advantage and translated that into a liquid-based visual language that made users feel like the blockchain worked for them in ways other can't.

Alderfinch

Brand Identity
2026

A brutalism inspired identity for an aspiring architectural practice.

For Alderfinch, I created a minimalist design language focussing around an AF logomark, inspired by stairs and building cantilevers and expanded it into a full brand identity.

Forge Coffee

Creative Strategy
& Brand Identity
2025

A premium coffee shop concept built around turning unconventional, low-rent spaces into destinations.

I worked with a group of investors to develop the concept, exploring how low-rent, unconventional spaces could become distinctive coffee destinations. I shaped the creative strategy and brand identity, creating a model that could work as a single venue and scale into a wider business.

Brick Kiln Meadows

Brand Identity
2024
Designed at J2

A bold identity for a new housing development aimed at Londoners looking for a life outside the city.

The site's original oasthouse became the starting point for a new identity. Its distinctive silhouette is reduced to a simple geometric mark, bringing the character of the old site into a new development. The result is a brand that feels contemporary while staying connected to the place's history and rural setting.

Clipper Round The World

Racing Yacht Designs
2018

A collection of brand partnership boat designs for the Clipper Round The World global yacht race.

Each partnership called for a different approach, translating the identity of each brand into a bold, recognisable livery across a racing yacht. The designs had to work at scale, at speed and alongside the visual noise of a global race.

The Beautiful Truth

Editorial Design & Illustrations
2024

A magazine about people changing the world, designed to feel more like a collection of thoughts than a traditional publication.

The design takes cues from the way ideas actually develop: jumping between thoughts, connections and tangents. Structured typography gives the magazine its framework, while loose illustration and unconventional layouts introduce a sense of movement and discovery.

About

I'm George Dent, a design director from London, now living and working in Bilbao, Spain.

I work with businesses and agencies to develop brands and the ideas behind them. That can mean helping define what a business is, working out how it should be positioned, or taking an existing idea and turning it into something people can see and engage with.

My work can take the form of an identity, campaign, website, publication, exhibition or something else entirely. I get involved in the thinking as much as the making, and I'm equally interested in the details that make the final thing work.

Agencies & Collaboration

I work with agencies and creative teams internationally as a freelance design director. I tend to work remotely, but I'm also happy to work in London from agency studios and become part of the team when that's useful. I can join a project at any point, from early strategy and ideas through to the final delivery.

Studio Space

I'm also a member of Pieza Multiestudio, a shared workspace in Bilbao where I work alongside seven other independent designers and creatives. It's a physical base for my practice and a place where clients and collaborators can come to meet, work through ideas and get a change of scenery.
